Who Are We?
We welcome everyone from any church background and from any non-church background. We are not anti-denominational, but we do seek to shell off the trappings of worldly religious systems and study the Scripture without the tint of man-made religion. We affirm the Old and New Testaments as the Word of God; we reject any other writings as authoritative. We seek to minister to anyone serious about living a changed life, a life changed by the power of God.
We are a historic, Reformed, Bible-based, Christ-centered fellowship of believers believing in Jesus Christ as the only way to the only God.
Who are we? Examine our purpose statement.
- We are sinners who have been saved by the work of Christ.
- We are committed to live in a way that Christ is evident in our lives.
- We commit to attend Worship, only missing in the most dire circumstances. We are committed to our church and our leadership.
- We reject the tenets of many modern “churched” people:
Easy-believe-ism – a person can be a Christian and live in a non-biblical manner. We believe in Lordship salvation - Casual Christianity – the belief that a person can be a Christian and not be devoted to Him
- Consumer mentality- that a Christian should feel that they are to be entertained or that they should shop for churches: but should through prayer find a church where they can serve God, not where they feel comfortable
- We are covenanted together. We agree to serve God in this fellowship to the best of our ability. We agree to live in a disciplined Scriptural manner, to put off the flesh and to put on Christ. We are accountable to the membership of this church, to the leadership of this church, and mainly to Our Lord Jesus Christ, as He has been revealed in the Scripture.
- We express our Praise to God through Worship of Him. We agree to worship Him in public Worship and in private. Worship is an active expression of our praise and thanksgiving to our God. Worship is to be an expression of the heart to a holy God. Again we turn to Scripture as our guide for Worship. A person who attempts to worship with an impure heart, to be seen of others, has not accomplished Worship.
- We agree to obey the Scripture and to serve God as He has gifted. Our obedience will be evident even if it is against our will.
- We agree to live in a disciplined manner, not acting like those who do not know Christ, but as blood-bought believers.
- We agree to be in submission to the Word of God and to the church in all matters of faith.
